Recently I returned from a trip to London where I spent some time with some of our supporting Underwriters at Lloyd’s, as well as other London Companies. This is always a beneficial trip for me as it allows us to ensure that our products are keeping pace with the marketplace in North America, in terms of both features and of course pricing. Plus, it’s always nice to catch up with people that I have known for a long time, some approaching twenty years.
Having spent two years working in London at the beginning of my insurance career, I am fortunate to have some longstanding friendships over there, many of whom continue to be loyal participating syndicates on our Binding Authorities.
Binding Authorities are the lifeblood of our business and allow us the unique ability to provide prompt local service to our broker, agent and consultant clients in their quest for specialized insurance solutions for their clients, ultimately the insured.
While the majority of time in London is typically spent with our Lloyd’s supporters, I do like to visit with some of our other strategic partners. This trip was Control Risks, the world’s leading provider of crisis management and Kidnap incident response services, as well as foremost political and security risk consultants.
